Maitreya

Maitreya

A Poem by Kenneth The Poet

the heat expels itself
from the engine block
melting the solid into
semi-solid and then
liquid state,

the opaque becomes a
state of vivid, wavy
translucence that will
become some kind of
transparent in due time,

but before the coming of
Maitreya of course,

because this is nature,

reliable, predictable nature,

the state of things that is
patterned, organized,
eventful even,

from how water changes state
to how religions expect their
key prophets to return from
the next world back to this one,

it's now time to close the book
because the ice will return unlike
the promised Maitreya
