Women Infants Children

Women Infants Children

A Poem by Kenneth The Poet

the women,

the infants

and the children

are fed tuna, tortillas,

dry beans, fresh fruits

and shelf-stable juice at

government expense,

is this a waste of the

taxpayer's money?

maybe or maybe not,

considering that medical

science and the federal

bureaucrats have a

stringent set of standards

that must be followed,

unlike food stamps which

can be used for pop, pizza,

peanut butter cups, ice cream,

steak, lobster and pre-made

frozen meals,

talk about getting the biggest

bang for one's buck,

they say, eat better today as if

it's not an already open secret,

does the bottom line watcher

know or even care?

the purist might cut off

the women, infants and

children but the pragmatist

will not because they know

tight controls when they see it,

but they aren't politicians

whoring themselves out for votes,

keeping the status quo

is quid pro quo,

no wonder the eagle has hit the

fiscal cliff and the women, infants

and children are along for the ride

with or without their collective consent
