The muse has eluded me lately. So, I dug out the archive and I found one I wrote almost a decade ago. Even back then, I had big ideas but my chops were neither honed or bloodied. Hope you like this neophyte attempt at profundity.

I'd say you acquitted yourself pretty well in the profundity department, especially taking the context into consideration...I still don't know how he got a second term, not that he's the only politician this could be applied to...

Agreed. It's like the song "You're So Vain" and how its applied to the shallowest of men.
Well, you do have a point- make that many points. It does have large amounts of cynicism (but I'm not one to talk haha) but it is a strong statement as a whole.
I particularly liked "
inciting a riot maybe be a sentence of death
but it's better than ranting and being out of breath"
I feel like that's a little hypocritical on many of our parts. All talk and no action, sadly. I guess we have to be the change we want to see in the world.

I still think we were taken into Iraq on a lie and it took almost nine years to get the troops out. I am glad you liked this piece and thanks again for the kind words.
