Plato's CaveA Poem by Kenneth The Poetthe soft creature emerges from the cave to tell the others they're being played
the cave is not the all-encompassing there is it's just the pop bottle holding in the fizz
but the others hold him down, have him killed the seer is killing their collective thrill
there is light outside and they are blind because up above, there is nothing to find
yet there is so much up there, up above so much to see, so much to hear, so much to love
but now the cave is a fabric of dark matter the seer's dream becomes duly shattered
pinpoints of lights in a hyperbolic canvas humankind still stuck in a comprehension crevasse
humans fail at the ideal, yet they want it all a trait defended with sharpened claws
so the god of perfection exists in sine-wave form and living in Plato's cave is the bedrock norm © 2013 Kenneth The PoetReviews
