Puzzle Pieces

Puzzle Pieces

A Poem by Kenneth The Poet

the puzzle pieces
are subtracted like
exemptions claimed
on the ten-forty,

the picture is distorted,
unclear, pockmarked like
the face of dioxin exposure

and even when the pieces
aren't missing and fit perfectly,
adhesive leeches from between
the cracks, looking like snot
running along broken pavement
in some rural sideshow attraction,

the puzzle pieces are out of whack
when that happens, six toes on each
hand and all that jizz-jazz junk,
who said exemptions can't ever
come from unbranched family trees?

this is the writer speaking,
cue the eerie theremin music
because the missing pieces have
been located after all

Ya gotta stop playin' with the kid's toys.....file electronically, hide the cash in the mattress like everybody else and take the little woman bowling.....that's what I do....

When desolate winter/cabin fever kick in, I just go out side and change the oil in the rusted pick-up with the thrown piston.......

I feel ya bro....

Don't remind me. I still have to finish that dastardly bit of government paperwork.
Witty and vivid...nicely done.
