Horizon

Horizon

A Poem by Kenneth The Poet

Jack Johnson once asked,

has the horizon been defeated?

or outright claimed actually,

yet either way he meant it,

the sun still rises and the

hopes and dreams of humans

are still being actualized,

realized fully,

will the change coming

down the pike bring down

the pike entirely?

time will reveal her secrets

but the squawk-boxing

has commenced from

the hearts of stone lions,

and maybe the stone lions

are correct,

scores will fall,

minds will contract,

the nation will crumble,

the apocalypse will ignite,

and yet, hope springs

eternal or on the interim,

will the horizon die?

only when humankind does

I cannot say as I sit and read this that I have made it to the horizon, however should I choose to make such a journey I am confident that not only will I make it to the horizon but I will see what lies just on the other side of that elusive line for which a lot of us strive and fail to reach. This piece certainly does reach and surpass it in grand scale. Very well done...!

Your most welcome
ah, an ode to the Phoenix.... The horizon is a place, a concept, an energy source for motivation. It's a VERY hard place to get to. the survival of our species will depend up some very hardy individuals, very stubborn, very direct, emotionally confident, of those that can work as hard with their hands as with their minds and ones who have protected and nurtured the capacity to still believe. Those INDIVIDUALS are the only ones with a chance to make it to the horizon.
