Worship Freely

Worship Freely

A Poem by Kenneth The Poet

atheist versus agnostic
faith against knowledge, nervous tic
this is pointless philosophy
this is why we worship freely

divisive dogmas causing strife
so much so folks were giving life
no way to follow properly
this is why we worship freely

people wearing divergent caps
while redrawing historic maps
cultures clashing so violently
this is why we worship freely

the Masonic maxim is clear
follow your conscience without fear
let the respect be brotherly
this is why we worship freely

being a fundamentalist conservative catholic atheist i have to keep my views to myself. i was force-fed catholicism for 12 years. i envy my friends whose parents let them decide for themselves whether to have religion or not. i can't stand when people come up to me and ask me if i believe in god and spread someone else's word. i agree, we should all worship freely and let others worship freely as well. i also respect the masonic maxim. excellent poem.

Thanks, Mockingbird. I agree with you as I hold similar convictions to yours.
Freedom of religion....atheism, to me is slightly similar to agnosticism....it is true that we are to respect people, but if one disagrees with another it is difficult to keep peace. One must be an example to the other. I like how your writing inspires me to think. Excellent, Mr. S.
