Zero Sense

Zero Sense

trying and finding the values

that solve this dysfunction

we call existence

the mathematicians call

them zeros because the

horizontal baseline is fixed

but the summation is that

all this mess makes zero sense

the fixation is a matter

of preference, a swamp

in an uncivilized place when

the general decided world

domination was a goal

worth pursuing

but change is slow as

the species is slow to change

the continents will rift apart

and reassemble like robot lions

fighting the forces of evil

mundane, pedestrian, ordinary

like green vestments worn

between Easter and Advent

once upon a time,

the universe was shrouded

in enigma and mysticism

and then the enigmas became

exposed and were deemed

the end of the external,

so the internal was in need

of exploration

but that follows what’s

seen externally

so the dysfunction is our

own reading of the whole,

and maybe that’s the point

of it all

the zero sense is zeroed out

when humankind is zeroed out
