Triad

Triad

A Poem by Kenneth The Poet

"

three is magical,

the schoolhouse seems

to think so, but that’s

reductive because the

schoolhouse reflects

the light of culture

why does it deserve

mystical significance?

the light of culture

reflects the light of

the universe

three points enclose any space,

the minimum needed be the

edges curved or straight

and the math alone from

that simple, observable notion

is breathtaking,

a work of art from a

master craftsman

is this evidence for a

tripartite divinity?

the culture that is occidental

in nature seems to think so

unreasonable effectiveness

and all that jazz

a creator unseen speaks

a language so precise

and incisive that allow

structures to arise

from the simplest of

premises

and imagines dimensions

so beyond comprehension

and visibility that it

can’t be helped to be

seen as evidence of

the divine

but where is the focal point

supposed to be placed?

man, god or the gap between

and the triad comes up again,

so magical, so mystical

and the chanteuse sings on,

shadowboxing herself philosophically

with words, music and structure

maybe the question can’t be answered,

everything comes magically wrapped

but again, maybe our

reading of the whole

itself is stunted…

itself is incomplete…

itself is inevitably moot…

yet the triad strikes

a chord for humankind

logically and emotionally

because even within

the final prose couplet

above, the three-letter

word “and” closes the gap,

the circuit and this

brain exercise as a whole

the triad wins again
