Ostomy

Ostomy

A Poem by Kenneth The Poet

just beneath the surface,
the brown bag is seen by
those astute of vision
and aware of vice

even ringing the bell doesn't
wash away the sins one commits
knowingly, willingly, rampantly

you're still guilty in the eyes
of the creator,
the court of public opinion,
and the ones you openly wronged

and the route to reconnection
may become blocked permanently

and the ostomy remains below the
black shirt, a long-term reminder
of how you screwed everyone over

but people may forgive,
but they'll never, ever forget

but that brown bag, whether or
not it endures, is the votive

some actions we take can't be
undone, and the offender must
endure with that knowledge

well then, crap in a sack!
