Monster

Monster

A Poem by Kenneth The Poet

people always ask me,

what’s the frequency, Kenneth?

and I tell them somewhere

on the low end of the dial

because that’s where their

crush with eyeliner lived

once upon a time…

and somehow I’m still

not the king of comedy,

and while I don’t sleep,

I dream about such odd

things like why star 69

isn’t as funny as star 67

might be now…

fads have always been

strange currencies but

they’ll be stuck at the back

of your mind and always

on the tip of your tongue…

time to play bang and blame

after I took your name,

whatever the hell that means…

and now the little vampire

screams let me in and she

somehow slots herself within

the circus envy of your life

perfectly…

by your side, with all of you…

and it makes one wonder,

who is the real monster

here when all is said and done

A very funny poem. It really captures how unpredictable and mysterious life is. The world is filled with a truckload of questions, but only a handful of answers
