An End In SightA Poem by Kenneth The PoetI had hope when I wrote this, but that hasn't come to pass.
Into the ground, the vessel committed
A life now safe, the name acquitted He opened his eyes to the Light of Divinity He is now cradled in the Arms of Serenity The parents are glad that he didn't have to see A world of full of hatred, a sorrowful menagerie He didn't have to live through any kind of catastrophe Be it natural, or created by the likes of you and me The man in the picture wondered if he was the cause Causing untold grief for both, a trial without pause But this is the nature of sin, bounding a father up in grief Causing him to embrace evil and wander vacant sans relief A man of Italian extraction, a representative here on Earth He understands the loss and the grief, for what it's worth So here I am now, living onward every single day Trying to keep my happiness, staying out of grief's way Someday soon, I'll make my way down to see him there But for now, the pain is fresh and just too hard to bear Whatever the future may bring, may it be simply bright No more grief-ridden trials, there should be an end in sight © 2011 Kenneth The PoetReviews
