Six months ago this very day
My son’s life was taken away In utero, he never stood a chance Just an unforeseen circumstance And the water heater now fails I am standing on carpet nails The liquid pools, radial advance Testing the boundaries of romance And they don’t fight, they work No need for either to be the jerk Frustration abounds, but it settles The stress breaks not their mettle He’s so tired and so is his spouse But this is their one and only house Deterring the coming storm of mold Even though the weather’s turning cold The fight before was very immature A smart mind with sense not so pure And the enemy is vanquished for now So there is no point in having a cow So he broods in silence for his missing child Despite the atmosphere turning somewhat mild But the Lord has warmed him, made him smile He has persisted today despite all the trials And cracking that smile may be the candle Life may be tough, but it can be handled Six months later and adoration is calling It’s time to bury the past that is appalling Goodbye son, I hope to see you in Heaven I hope my verdict is luckier than a seven © 2011 Kenneth The PoetReviews
