Six Months Ago

Six Months Ago

A Poem by Kenneth The Poet
"

Penned ten days before the ninth anniversary when the three thousand died.

"
Six months ago this very day
My son’s life was taken away

In utero, he never stood a chance
Just an unforeseen circumstance

And the water heater now fails
I am standing on carpet nails

The liquid pools, radial advance
Testing the boundaries of romance

And they don’t fight, they work
No need for either to be the jerk

Frustration abounds, but it settles
The stress breaks not their mettle

He’s so tired and so is his spouse
But this is their one and only house

Deterring the coming storm of mold
Even though the weather’s turning cold

The fight before was very immature
A smart mind with sense not so pure

And the enemy is vanquished for now
So there is no point in having a cow

So he broods in silence for his missing child
Despite the atmosphere turning somewhat mild

But the Lord has warmed him, made him smile
He has persisted today despite all the trials

And cracking that smile may be the candle
Life may be tough, but it can be handled

Six months later and adoration is calling
It’s time to bury the past that is appalling

Goodbye son, I hope to see you in Heaven
I hope my verdict is luckier than a seven

An ending...and a beginning. For every yin, there is a yang. For every sorrow, there is a joy. For every death, there is life.

;/ I'm not going to offer critique on this. Some things, suffice to say, one shouldn't express their opinions on.

Though I will say that I'm astounded by the sheer emotion here. A very difficult read.
