Imaginary Lawnmowers

Imaginary Lawnmowers

A Poem by Kenneth The Poet

A bunch of party freaks
lined up and fired up
imaginary lawnmowers
just because the beat
and the cadence
demanded some kind
of observance,
some kind of respect,
and yet he's the one
stared at with derision
because he's
Woody Harrelson's
analogue since that
certain floor is his
basketball court,
sometimes black
is truly better
than white.

It's sad when two-by-fours
and brick walls have better
rhythm and motion.

Of course,
if the German Army
had marched across
the Oder starting
imaginary lawnmowers
in tandem with their
impeccable goose step,
then Europe wouldn't
have suffered under
the wrath of the
improper cross.
