Snicker

Snicker

A Poem by Kenneth The Poet

herding cats or
unruly cattle, a
spinning wheel of
madness subtracted
of its central axle,
like a linear equation
subtracted of its
constant term

on this day of
mementos and mugshots,
let ask us Eris, the goddess
of discord to make this
dysfunctional round of
disorganization into
something less chaotic,
something less discordant

but that's only scratching
away at a marble column
with a chewed-down thumbnail

pray for us while pretending
not to snicker at our expense

The frustrating stanza of the "marble column" is amazing :) We simply never sratch the surface do we?
This is so cool, I love your work..so talented!
Someone has to pray for us all...and quickly!

. at the risk of repeating myself ... i'd say that what makes your writing unique for me ... is the skill with which you weave mathematical concepts into poetry ... i'd read this quote by a wise person ... "an artist is not ahead of his times, an artist is his times, the others are behind the times" ... you are the quintessential circa 2011 poet ... and i've read a fair bit of you to be able to claim that ... and that's not just because you write skillfully and sensitively ... but because no one ... anywhere in the world ... has incorporated this kind of a multi-disciplinary approach in teaching poetry ... or for that matter ... mathematics ... what a pity ! ... would've made education an infinitely more effective and interesting process ...

oooh..I promise not to snicker..even though I want to because of the sacrasm or irony..really powerful visuals..especially second from last stanza.

"pray for us while pretending not to snicker at our expense"
I loved that stanza. The second line of writing was also very well done, but not as good as the last one.
Flawless job, I enjoyed reading!
