Pep Talk

Pep Talk

A Poem by Kenneth The Poet

step up

wake up

be the man
because you can

love
that
raspberry
because it will
come one day
and you'll have
to be ready

emotionally

mentally

you are the man

the good man

the happy man

not this blue
pile of feces
you see in
the mirror

routinely

perpetually

you hate
cold steel
and
you love
warm hearts

you are one with nature

you are one with nurture

you are filled with the
spirit of divinity

they lit that candle
for your unspoken
concerns

and they love you for it

you...can...do...it!

fight it hard!

there is no blue demon

there is no black demon

just a chemical imbalance
that wants to tear you apart

you will gain victory!

you...will...win...it...all!

Wow....if my manic side could give my depressive side a sermon, this would be it. But, then my depressive side would sneer his lip to show his teeth, adjust his crotch openly, and say something like, "yeah, and all that happy horseshit." lol!

this is good poetry. And, it's nice to know that I'm not the only one dealing with the high and low tides of moods and inner chemical betrayals.

write on my good man.
write on!

Some joke at this for sure....but I struggle with these pep talks daily. But it's an absolute must. It's a battle of the wills, and inner voices. And there are days...when I feel there is no victory to be gained.
