A Poem by Kenneth The Poet

the morning prayer service,

a supposed call-to-arms

to stoke the supposed

ethnic pride from its slumber,

is nothing more than a

strong cup of coffee

to stoke the student body

out of its slumber, to

paraphrase the always

great Lewis Black.

 

it’s sad when even the

student body can recognize

a lie for what it is.

I like the volumes this piece speaks at, I feel there is representation for so many different classes of reader. I agree with this entirely, and I love the way you ended it with a Lewis Black quote. Good work.
