QuarterbackA Poem by Kenneth The Poetthe quarterback exhibits a certain kind of majesty,
the kind that causes a stir,
the kind that causes a scene,
and the feathers are ruffled because he wears his beliefs on his shoulders,
not like that should matter,
he’s a model for hard work,
clean living,
perseverance,
he is some kind of hero,
someone the youth of today should look up to as a role model,
a standard-bearer,
a man who epitomizes the American ideal of manhood,
balls made of brass and bronze,
a Rick Perry in the making,
or a dying breed if certain minds had their way,
their day in the limelight,
but the defenders would see them buried in lime and subtracted of light,
subtracted from this life is more like it,
but the subject will run the option and throw the pass to garner more wins,
and both sides of the so-called controversy are no better than boxed wine or dumbshits with low self-esteem,
yet the maxim remains as always truthful,
