Greensleeves

Greensleeves

A Poem by Kenneth The Poet

worshipping the silver dispenser

in the kitchen as if on the altar

in any other American house

of worship to some higher power

the coffee klatch,

a more recent and

American form

of worship,

discussing Enlightenment

concepts in light of ancient teachings

and mutual respect for every

member of humankind

today, as Greensleeves plays in the

foreground, we light a candle

for everybody in attendance

because coffee and mutual respect,

through careful remarking or

roasting with a sardonic fire,

we ultimately love and respect

one another around the firelight

and the silver dispenser that

fuels the modern form of worship

we do this for freedom

we do this for reason

we do this for toleration

we do this in the name of spirit

we do this in the name of grace

we do this in the name of love
