Sunday Afternoon

Sunday Afternoon

A Poem by Kenneth The Poet

sipping coffee on a Sunday afternoon,

dreaming about the day she can be held,

once and for all,

alive and kicking,

alive and breathing,

he thinks this as he tries to work out what he
needs to do in order to be her role model,

the one she cries to when
the neighbor boy who secretly
has a crush on her pushes her
down and runs away like the
youngster he is,

he hopes to have that
positive impact on her,

and so as he sips his coffee
this Sunday afternoon,

he hopes everything can
come out buttered-side up
