Love By Definition

A Poem by Kenneth The Poet

love, what is love?

the eternal quest for
the final answer to the
ultimate question has
yielded some surprising
findings, and after much
deliberation, this hand
confirms the idea that
love is a verb, but some
direct current
conversationalists
already came to that
very conclusion some
years ago,

still, actions always
speak louder than
words, and the
simplest ideas
always speak the
loudest,

do unto others as well as
in sickness as in health,

just ask the husband or
wife who has to shave
their significant other
from Bigfoot back
into some semblance
of normalcy,

or to change the adult
diapers when the demon
of incontinence has taken
total control of the other,

or to stand by them when
the cancer diagnosis or
the sterility test or
the herpes test or
the guilty verdict
comes back positive,

love is an action word,
a word to describe positive
action, an action where the
human's well being is looked
out for all the time and
every time,

that is love defined,

the final answer to
the ultimate question,

the quest complete,
no longer eternal.

ken, your analytical style has found a surprisingly perfect fit in this piece, and the way you apply it to the topic in question, teaching by example, is a gentle reminder to us

'love', like so many others, is a 'hollow' word, it can only be filled with each individual's experience of it...so no matter what anyone says about love, it can't mean more or less than that...love can be a hammer, love can be a breeze, and love can be the name a madman puts to his deeds, or love can literally blow the walls from around your heart

Quite a definition... I like the way you carried the flow all the way through.

. it's tough to do justice to this topic because it's written about so often ... but you succeeded ... this post is moving beyond measure and so real that it's surreal ... beautifully written ...

.
how well you have defined the essense of love..that it is more than a simple word and only becomes relative when experienced. How we as individuals define the very word is open to interpretation to some. But personally when love touches you..you instantly know it. Loved this.
