I am lost in adverb land Truly, duly and fully Won’t you help, take my hand The pages are full of pretty words But the sentiments are for the birds She’s so sweet, so kind, so fair Why go on then, I get nowhere Erotic and platonic A couple words for love Fruitless, useless and endless My muse gives me a shove The pages are full of pretty words But the sentiments are for the birds She’s so sweet, so kind, so fair Why go on then, I get nowhere Gorgeous and forthright Adjectives describe her best Humorous, wise and mindful She’s many steps above the rest The pages are full of pretty words But the sentiments are for the birds She’s so sweet, so kind, so fair Why go on then, I get nowhere Silent and evasive Why was I given this gift? Selfish, pessimistic and sad Why should I cause a rift?
