sitting in the dark listening to the
punk of the past, staring at the time,
watching it tick by until the spouse
and I hit up the garage sales to see
if we can find a gently-used bassinet
or however you properly spell that word,

daddy should be happy but the world
is heavy because even Pascal’s Wager
had a grain of truth to it, even if you
don’t believe you are always making
a wager, a gamble that costs you hard

to be the instructor of the youth, you
need to be licensed and when a job
interview comes along after you’ve
signed the contract somewhere else,
paying the piper may mean losing
everything besides serving the
process of severance

is this a miracle, a test?

if it is, why does the failure
anxiety always happen even
if the odds are in your favor?

I think the simple answer is cause it's a jungle out there and fear of the unknown is one of human natures biggest faults.

I've been there done that...I'd like to say that it gets better, but don't think for a moment that your child will judge you on this. I see children surrounded by wealth...but they are always acting out for attention.... You cannot buy your child's love and attention, that in itself...remains free....and priceless. :)
