Nicholl Highway

I only stayed for a day in Singapore (more specifically, in Sentosa RW. YEY Universal Studios!), but it was love at first sight.

I only got to know you at night

When daylight hides from us

But in the nooks and crannies

of your alleyways

I found myself

Wanting more

The bright streetlights

And the fast-rolling escalators

All calling out to me

Telling me to walk on water

And into your cement jungle

Trains rush

And people sleep a while

Waiting for the stop

Meet me by the bay, 

you say

And I'll take you

To every point in this island

I may only know you

When the stars are out

But in those moments

I probably knew you

Better than daylight ever will
