Bosphorus lullabiesA Poem by Gee BeeMy love letter to Istanbul. I fall in love with cities so easily.
While I prowled behind dark curtains
and sneaked through amphitheaters of white and dust I shamelessly looked into your eyes Wondering how it feels To have your cold caresses and the kiss of your breeze Like a lover to his beloved Falling for thick lashes and mosques from centuries past I sail past traffic jams and bite into your sesame and kebab-filled soul After rose hips and dolmas I pray to Io and Prometheus that I cross oceans and rivers bearing your grace your warmth And to soon engulf me in your bovine dreams
