Love So Selfish

Love So Selfish

A Poem by gibletish

Selfishly I covet having more time around you

More time for my eager ears to harvest the

Precious words flowing from out of your

Mouth that beckons me like an oasis with

Promises of life in an otherwise empty desert and

Selfishly I long to allow your eyes to be all that I

See with my own, because what other sight is there worth seeing?

So selfishly I wish my own body existed purely to touch

You in each and all of the ways you might need to be touched

Yes I am unabashedly selfish in my need to

Quietly hold you as if the entire world is a

Current that's attempting to pull us away from each other, and once more I must

Confess that the whole being of my existence is driven by

A singularly selfish desire to finally be lost in

Blissful exploration of everything that is you, and everything that you are
