This Sore Throat Doesn't Hurt Nearly so Much as The Empty Space Left Behind by You

This Sore Throat Doesn't Hurt Nearly so Much as The Empty Space Left Behind by You

A Poem by gibletish

So many questions for you are burning in my mind, and they all start the same way

Why?

Why did you leave without saying goodbye?

Why did you never look back?

Why didn't you tell me something was wrong?

Why couldn't I have had the chance to show you the same love you showed me?

Why didn't we have a conversation about your needs?

Why don't you realize how much I crave being able to support the person who showed up for me so much?

Why was the door opening wider right before it was slammed tightly shut?

Why do you never leave my mind even after having left my life?

If you don't love me anymore, can you please tell me

Why?
