I Sit Here on My WindowsillA Poem by DonnaLove not tried.I sit here on my window sill. You walk there on the street. My eyes follow you, My heart goes too, Yet you show no hesitation, You don’t even miss a beat.
I wonder how you’re doing. Is your day going well? My eyes follow you, My heart goes too, Are you hoping to meet someone? I really want to yell.
Every day you walk by I fall another inch. My eyes follow you, My heart goes too, My pride is dashed upon the rocks And you don’t even flinch.
Please look up to my window ledge. My arms long for your embrace. My eyes follow you, My heart goes too, My body moves within itself. Like a woven, intricate lace.
You never see me. You never turn. My eyes follow you, My heart goes too, You ignore my every stare. You wreak havoc until I burn.
The hatred now is growing. Not wanting to be ignored. My eyes follow you, My heart goes too, Every moment in my seat, Is a moment I’m abhorred.
Don’t worry about me, I know, you never do. My eyes follow you, My heart goes too, Keep walking down the street, And leave me here to stew.
I’ll be fine, I will mend. My eyes follow you, My heart goes too, You will go. This is the end. © 2018 Donna |
