Shadow Vortex

Shadow Vortex

A Poem by Gilad Levanon
"

A thought on how to deal with your darkness...

"
From the deep dark swirling darkness
Emerges a shimmer of shining truth
A slippery sliver of silvery silver
It winds its way through the whirling whirlpool
And bubbles burst blistering on the bubbling surface

The shadow vortex is your darkness
It sucks you in
It pulls you
The shadow vortex is your darkness
It draws you in
It calls to you

So why not give in?
Why not descend into the depths?
Why not abandon your discipline?
Why not release yourself to its' call?

The answer intrigues me
For there are two ways to descend

The easiest is to simply fall
And allow yourself to wallow in the vortex
Forever spinning out of control
Forever wailing wails of wasteful agony

Or you can dive in with a light in hand
An intention to understand
Learn the lesson of the shadow
And banish it with your golden arrow
Then you see the light that emerges
And feel the joy that then surges

For the darkness is truly light in disguise
A lesson visible to the eyes of the wise
So do not wallow and grow to despise
Spread your wings and learn to rise

Fold them and dive in with the light of a noble desire
And then you will learn to soar higher and higher

I truly enjoyed reading this and I think you can interpret a lot from it, but personally it says to me 'you can wallow in your own misery/self pity all you want, but you are the one who has to pick yourself up and want to move on or you will become bitter and even hateful as you are slowly eaten up by whatever darkness haunts you'. That's just my interpretation but your words really spoke to me and gave me an imagining of someone with great pain but also with great potential to be more than just a sufferer. This is a great piece :)

indeed in deed you went and captured the ying and yang of it all~ concepts are ever shifting and interchanagable depending on who is the dreamer and who is being dreamed~ fantastical theoretical leaps of thought~

I'm interested in finding the ultimate question. I know the answer's 42 but "What is six times seven?" doesn't satisfy me. more..
