Easter Dawn

Easter Dawn

A Poem by Botania

All the Earth belongs to me
a child in dress without the sleeves
taffeta bows, and Sunday shoes
in frosted air that leaves me blue.
We run full speed about the lawn
find scattered eggs on Easter dawn
to Church, back home, our feet will tread
to bbq,,,, where pit is red
with love's eternal glow of flame
the joy of Spring on Easter day!
Itchy dress, I'll not suffer you.
Petticoat, with you I'm through.
The Lord has risen. Can't you see?
upon the cross for you, complete
The message simple, sweet and clear
that we must love all who come near.
