Skimming the Surface

Skimming the Surface

A Poem by Botania
"

.

"
Languid circles leaving me
from fingertip to shore of beach.
They spread across so evenly,
skim the surface that is me.
I'm more than just a wave reflection
flesh and bone I fear rejection
coming near I use projection
shell of me you see
For I am more than reaches shore
more than you will see
I am here in dedication
to what life ought to be.
Dream of dreams complete my thoughts
as "what ifs" choose to linger
World will fill so well, complete
with all you choose to bring here.
Who am I for you to know?
Skim the surface as you go.
Oar go deeply as you row
deeper still, to know me.

Thank you Marcus.
love the double meaning of "oar"---clever.

this analogy works all the way through...it is creative....if you really get to know me more deeply....maybe i will be more than you expected....and maybe you will not only understand me, but maybe love me too.
