Woman in creation

God in human

All in love

 

Loves her children

Her world’s end

Watch them grow

Strong and old

 

She isn’t herself

Something amiss

Missing her son

Lose him bit by bit

 

Being possessive

Her son she loves

Finds lady he love

Making her insecure

 

Fights tooth and nail

Can’t show intention open

Don’t like to lose

Son she loves most

 

Changing moments

Finds her new role

Mother in her lost

 

Evil in her mind

Always find fault

All fingers pointing

The daughter-in-law

 

Ghost in her shines

She isn’t human

Hurting souls

In search new home

 

Mother-in-law

Is mother-in-low!!

Blind n possessive

Hurting her own eyes

I've unfortunately been on the recieving end of that. But then again a mothers love is usually blind. Mother is the name of God for all children.

And hurting her own child! There's a lot of truth in this, as there is in all your writing. Mothers don't like losing their sons and fathers have a problem with losing their daughters. When the empty nest syndrome sets in mothers become fearful, no one to clean up after...my question is, why not enjoy life after the children are settled? Husbands tend to get the short end of the stick because the marital relationship has been allowed to decay...
Thanks for this, it made me think...and that's got to be a good thing right?

I enjoyed reading this and it's a first mother-in law poem for me. I've had two and found this to be spot on. For some reason mothers won't easily let go of the reins they controlled their teenage sons with. They expect to control them - how long? - foever? I have to agree they get rather underhanded in their dealings with their daughter-in-laws and end up pointing their fingers our way. I have two daughters and it may be hard to let go, but it's rather easy to stay out of their business. I guess we expect daughters to be grown up enough to handle the families they've asked for. Really nicely written piece. I smiiled my way through reading it. Kudos.
