Written on a long, long, lonely, and rainy day.

"

Ever dread a trudging day
Wherein there is no sun; no day.
Rain pours sheets; the sheets make walls.
Rain so thick and melancholy calls.
Am I drowning? Do I exist?
Cruel meditations and death's mistress.
Fading faintly; no matter; am empty.
'Til -- I near death sense light -- 
Soft profound sentry.
