The me that isn't me.

 

He's still dreaming of that time.

 

The briefest moment before the dawn.

 

When the sunlight revealed everything in gray, then color.

 

The promise is revealed to be empty.

 

Because they can live without knowing me.

 

Memories won't allow themselves to fade away alone.

 

So I stand by myself in this emptiness.

 

Yearning...

 

Dreaming...

 

Waiting...

 

Hoping...

 

Crying...

 

For the me that is here now to remember.

 

That only 'I' dreamed of a connection with them.

 

It's an empty promise that binds no one but me.

 

But...I'm glad that my heart was broken.

 

Because I am still here.

 

And it's not over yet.
