Invisible

Invisible

A Poem by Frances Smart
"

About homelessness.

"
Invisible

In a place where
Everyone greets you as you
Walk down the street,
It is a strange feeling to be
Regarded as invisible,
Simply because of the
Shelter badge on your lapel.
But I, heart full of peace,
Head held high,
Warm smile fixed in place,
Just kept putting one step
In front of the other,
Telling myself I was
One step closer to my goals,
One step closer to HOME.
