silencio.

A Poem by Cal
"

have you ever really listened to the world around you? this came about after five minutes of complete silence

"
I lean back, and my eyes " the windows of my soul, those blessed burdens of sight " hide themselves, andthe hidden song of silence washes over me, drags me down, and screams to me its lullaby. There is the thrum of hearts, an unheard march andmelody and cacophony of blood and life and time, allticking away and pleading for mercy " “I am you, we areyou, and your lives, and yet you hear us not!”And there is the gentle whisper of birdsong, faint as thelightest cloud, woven under and over and through thethrobbing of hearts. And it is a song of hope in the gentle gloomof morning " “Hear us, and take comfort in our melody!”Finally, another layer, another symphony in the backgroundof unheard noises clamoring to be heard, fighting to beknown, and begging to be understood " “Please, listen tothis world of quiet, so that we may not die in vain!”So, therefore, cry out and carry a message to allthose who would listen to you- let your voice ring out into thisempty world, and proclaim, “I exist, and my story is one thateven now I write as I live and breathe!”
