ever get that weird anxious feeling just before you fall asleep?

you close your eyes and there is suddenly 

nothing after nothing

leaping out at you,

 pinning you under the sheets

and paralyzing you

alone

 

with only your fears for company

in the vast, unknown ocean of sleep.

without a life jacket, you are
