ACT ONE

INT. WATSON’S FLAT - BEDROOM - NIGHT

Dim moonlight filters through half-closed curtains. The room is tidy-but too tidy. Books stacked meticulously. A tea mug perfectly centered.

JOHN WATSON (40s) lies asleep on his back, face strained as if dreaming hard.

A soft ticking - nervous, irregular.

John’s eyes SNAP OPEN. He sits up, breathing heavy, disoriented.

--------------

INT. WATSON’S FLAT - LIVING ROOM - MOMENTS LATER

John blinks at a coffee table cluttered with photos and notes in his handwriting.

CLOSE ON: A name circled thrice - “VICTOR HOLLAND.”

John picks up a crime scene photo: a man’s mouth sewn shut, head tilted, a spiral symbol carved beneath the jaw.

WATSON
(quietly)
When did I-

A voice from the kitchen.

SHERLOCK (O.S.)
Quarter past four. You fell asleep at the table. I took over.

John turns.

------------------

INT. WATSON’S FLAT - KITCHEN - CONTINUOUS

SHERLOCK HOLMES (40s) stands at the stove, pouring tea. Sharp suit. Calm, cold demeanor.

WATSON
You went out again.

SHERLOCK
You weren’t responding. The case couldn’t wait.

WATSON
I didn’t know we had a case.

SHERLOCK
Now you do.

John eyes him. Unclear if Sherlock is real or imagined.

WATSON
Victor Holland. Found near the canal?

SHERLOCK
Mouth sewn shut. Eyes closed. Perfect tableau. Not panic-art. Or a message.

WATSON
You solved it without me.

SHERLOCK
Not solved. Begun. I need you focused.

WATSON
I am focused.

SHERLOCK
(stern)
You’re fraying.

John pours tea, avoiding Sherlock’s gaze.

Behind them-mirror lingers briefly-only John reflected.

-----------------------

INT. POLICE STATION - CONFERENCE ROOM - DAY

DETECTIVE INSPECTOR LESTRADE (50s) lays out crime photos.

LESTRADE
Victor Holland. Photographer. Door locked from inside. No signs of struggle.

WATSON
No struggle, no fear.

LESTRADE
But look-symbol carved beneath jaw.

He hands John a close-up of a spiral.

WATSON
He trusted his killer.

DETECTIVE #1
Or was drugged.

WATSON
No. Calm acceptance.

Silence. Lestrade watches John leave, concerned.

----------------

INT. THERAPIST’S OFFICE - EVENING

Warm lighting.

DR. LENA HART (30s) sits across from Watson.

DR. HART
Are you still hearing him?

WATSON
He’s not a hallucination.

DR. HART
Then who?

WATSON
A partner.

DR. HART
You work alone.

Watson clenches jaw.

DR. HART
You said he appears in mirrors?

WATSON
Not real doesn’t mean not there.

DR. HART
Blackouts, lost time-where were you last night?

Watson looks away.

WATSON
Solving a murder.

----------------

INT. WATSON’S FLAT - NIGHT

John stares into the hallway mirror.

SHERLOCK appears behind him in reflection-speaking, unheard.

John turns-no one there.

He looks again.

MORIARTY stands behind Sherlock, grinning.

WATSON
Who are you?

MORIARTY (REFLECTION)
The one who never sleeps.

-----------------

Watson stares at mirror-Sherlock and Moriarty gone.

A whisper follows.

MORIARTY (V.O.)
Don’t turn your back.

Watson freezes.

------------------------

EXT. CANAL MURDER SITE - NIGHT

Watson arrives alone. Quiet.

SHERLOCK
You came back. Good.

WATSON
I didn’t tell you.

SHERLOCK
I don’t need you to.

Sherlock kneels by faint blood spray.

SHERLOCK
No struggle. He leaned in. Offered his throat.

Close on faded spiral chalk.

SHERLOCK
That’s a message-for us.

Watson’s pulse quickens.

---------------------

INT. POLICE ARCHIVES - DAY

Watson requests old files, clerk hesitant.

Files: “ELLIOT MORRIS,” “JANE PATERSON,” “MICHAEL LANE.”

Each crime scene bears the spiral.

--------------------

INT. WATSON’S FLAT - NIGHT

Photos pinned to wall, spirals repeat.

SHERLOCK
A message. An old one.

WATSON
Old how?

Sherlock smirks.

--------------------

Phone buzzes: text from unknown-“We should talk without him.”

Watson looks to kitchen-Sherlock there.

New text: “He’s not the only one watching.”

Watson’s eyes flick to window.

MORIARTY (REFLECTION)
You think he’s the dangerous one?

-----------------------

INT. THERAPIST’S OFFICE - DAY

Dr. Hart notes Watson’s speech.

DR. HART
Dissociative identity disorder.

WATSON
Sherlock’s not a disorder.

DR. HART
And the one in the mirror?

Watson stands, tense.

-----------------------

EXT. CITY STREET - NIGHT

Watson walks, passing reflections shifting among Watson, Sherlock, Moriarty.

Final reflection smiles back.

---------------------

INT. WATSON’S FLAT - NIGHT

Wall covered in spirals.

No murder last night.

Sherlock enters.

SHERLOCK
We need to talk about what he’s been doing while you sleep.

-------------------

Sherlock:

“You noticed him. Time to stop pretending.”

Watson clenches fists.

----------------------

INT. WAREHOUSE

MORIARTY appears, darker, predatory.

“You made me. Remember?”

----------------------

Etched spiral on table.

MORIARTY
More times than you want to admit.

Flashbacks: Young Watson at violence, blood spirals.

-----------------

SHERLOCK (V.O.)
Don’t listen. Infection.

-----------------

Watson, Sherlock, Moriarty stand outside.

Voices argue.

It’s Watson. Another him.

Spiral carved on wall.
