Blue Eyes

Blue Eyes

A Poem by Haley Lynn Thomas
"

An old poem that I remember no one liked but that I loved. So...yeah

"

I miss the way your blue eyes sparkled

When you'd seen through my ruses

I loved the way you laughed at all my jokes

No matter how stupid they may have been

I loved how you humored me anyway

I miss how you held me in the rain

How you kissed me in your car that first night

How you sat through all those chick flicks

And you never complained at all

I miss how you lied just to make my day

Remember when I introduced you to my family

And you charmed them just like you did me

And when you told me you'd never let me go

How you held me as we rode through the snow

And all those sunsets on the beach

I miss the way you smiled

When you'd finally learned me inside and out

I loved the way your blue eyes stared into mine

I miss those picnics under the big oak tree

And coming home to you after a long, hard day

I wish I could bring you back to life

Or urn back the clock and prevent the accident from happening

So tomorrow I could still have you

So I wouldn't be staring at your headstone now

The way I used to stare into your blue eyes
