The Day (After) We Broke Up

The day we broke up

Felt like the end of the world

I ran home and cried, and

Retraced every moment in my mind

I played them back again

Rewound when I reached the end

I looked for every mistake

Just trying to make sense of it

I listened to some break up songs

So I didn't feel so alone

I wrote a couple of my own, and
Shoved them into your mailbox

I fast-forward to the next day

Skip past all the scenes with your face

I ran home with a smile, and

Wrote this poem
