Thank You

Thank You

A Poem by Haley Lynn Thomas

I wanted to take a minute

To stop and say thank you

For breaking his heart

So I could step in and mend it

I wanted to take a moment

To pause to say to you

I'm really enjoying him

And too bad if you miss him

I'm loving your leftovers

ANd just in case you wonder

I've made him forget your name

He doesn't bring you up anymore

You didn't appreciate him

Now you no longer have him

Do you regret your decision

To kick him to the curb?

I wanted to take a minute

To show you what you lost

And tell you I've really made him happy

In a way you never did

I wanted to take a moment

To express my gratitude

To you for kicking him out

So I could take him in
