Life

A Poem by Haley Lynn Thomas

Each life is precious

No matter how it starts

Whether intentional

Or an accident

Each heartbeat is beautiful

Inisde you is a little human being

They have so much potential

Don't end it before it can begin

Never are you more innocent

Than when you're in the womb

And never are you more vulnerable

You can't protect yourself

You don't get a say

In what happens to you

You don't have any rights

They don't respect you

WHy do you pay

For someone else's mistakes?

Where's the justice?
For you it won't come

Each life is a miracle

Each one has a purpose

They coudl save a hundred lives

Or an endangered species

They could benefit the world

WIth their discoveries

If only they were given a chance

If only we valued a life

Author's Note

Haley Lynn Thomas
I almost didn't post this because I know someone is bound to get upset or offended because the subject matter is controversial. If you don't agree with me then that's fine. I am entitled to my views and you yours. I hope we can all be mature and respectful. I am not one to censor my work, nor do I feel I should have to.
