Game

Game

A Poem by Haley Lynn Thomas
"

I've noticed my latest poems have been kind of angry. poetry is my therapy so when I write I'm writing out all my anger/frustration. I'm going to work on wrtiting some happy poems next though!

"

Let me put this in a way you'll understand

Although I'm not really sure if I can

I tried to be polite but I'm done with that now

Two can play at this game but only one can win

You treat me like I'm a nobody

But I'm more of a somebody than you

It's funny how you think you're above me

Tell me, where did you go to school?

Those exasperated sighs are so dramatic

I could really do without that bitchy better-than-you tone

How about you show a little respect?

Look me in the eyes while you stab me in the back

Let me put this in a way you'll understand

I can be as sweet as cotton candy

But cross me and you'll regret it forever

Remember you can't play the game if you don't know the rules
