A Poem by Haley Lynn Thomas
"

I don't forget.

"

Children will be children

But I expected more from you

Someone had to be the adult

And that someone wasn't you

Sometimes I wonder how you were hired

How did you pass your interview?

Did you tell them that you hate kids?
But that you love to humiliate them

You're not cut out to be a teacher

You don't care about your students

You only care about making yourself look good

And you're so easily frustrated

Nine years old is such a vulnerable time

Kids are so impressionable at that age

It's when their building their foundations

And you play a part in that

Children will be children

But you should know better

I honestly don't know why you became a teacher

What I do know is that you're not a very good one

I like the poem. You asked good questions. Teachers have hard jobs. Not all people should or can be teachers. Must have patience and skill to deal with kids. The poem open doors to questions. Thank you for sharing the excellent poem.
