Hold Your Head Up High

Hold Your Head Up High

A Poem by Haley Lynn Thomas

There are days you want to die

Go to sleep and never see the light again

Life is just too full of stress

You're losing your grip

People step all over you

They drag you down alongside them

This world is fraught with competition

But please don't give in to the temptation

Hold your head up high

Even when you feel like crying

Smile and put on a brave face

Even when you're losing your faith

Wake up each day with confidence

In yourself and your skills

Tell yourself you can do it

You can bring so much to the table

Don't let them drag you down

Keep one step ahead of your competition

And please, don't let them change you
And never loose your sense of who you are

Because you're special and unique
You're full of promise

You've just got to tap into it

Make them believe in you the way I do
