Bunny

Bunny

A Poem by Haley Lynn Thomas

You're first bet friend

A pillow to rest your head on

Or cry into

Someone to cuddle with at night

You take her everywhere

She's your everything

She's lost all of her fur

Her ears have been stitched on a dozen times

And a curious dog got one of her eyes

She's old and worn

And no longer white

But she's still your everything

You'll never let her go

Never let her hop far from home

You'll keep in in a special place

And you still talk to her

Like you're still five years old

Like she's as real as you

To everyone else she's just a toy

But to you she's irreplaceable

She's the one thing you can't live without

You'll never say goodbye to her

And even when you're 82

She'll still sit on your shelf

Because she's my first best friend

And even though she's no long white

She'll always be my everything
