5. Three Years

5. Three Years

A Chapter by Haley Lynn Thomas
"

Five Years.

"

If you and I were still speaking

There are some things I'd say to you

Some things I need to get off my chest

I haven't really breathed in three years

I'd tell you just how sorry I am

No matter what you didn't deserve this

I let me emotions take control

And I watched our friendship die

I'd tell you this isn't how it's supposed to be

We used to live in perfect harmony

Your love letters still hang on my wall

All the ones you wrote for me

If you and I were still talking

There are some things I'd say to you

Some things I need you to know

I haven't really known you in three years

I'd tell you just how much I miss you

I know that things between us will never be the same

That's not what I'm asking for

I just need to know that you and I will be okay
