A Chapter by Haley Lynn Thomas
"

I miss you.

"

Last night I was dreaming

And you were in it

And we were fighting

About something stupid

About how you don't like Twilight

And it was funny

Because we haven't spoken in years

And it was like going back in time

When I screamed at you

Hoping to evoke some kind of emotion

And it was sad

Because I really loved you

And it made me realize

I still really love you

But I'll never have you back

Last night I was dreaming

And it was about you

And we were fighting

And the whole time I was thinking

About how much I hate this

And when I woke up

I wished it wasn't a dream

Because I miss fighting with you

Because at least when we were fighting

We were speaking

We haven't spoken in years

Author's Note

Haley Lynn Thomas
This poem expresses my sadness about a former relationship of mine. There is this completely amazing, sweet person who is unfortunately no longer a part of my life. I wish that we could try to be friends but so much has happened between us that I'm not sure it's possible. My feelings were always much stronger than his, and it hurts to know that someone you care so much about doesn't feel the same, but I would hope that maybe he doesn't hate me as much as I think he does. I'm sure he thinks I hate him, but I can't really hate him. He's such a good soul. I know he'll never read my poems, but a part of me wishes he would. I feel like it would explain a lot. I will never stop holding onto the hope that maybe one day we can be friends again.
