14. You Seem to Have ForgottenA Chapter by Haley Lynn ThomasThey won't take you anywhere. You seem to have forgotten That when we were little We were best friends Who sat together at lunch And played on the playground
You were just waiting to ditch me To trade up to a newer model I was a social outcast And you wanted to be popular I was nothing but a stepping stone
As soon as they accepted you You became a bully Just as mean to me as they were You
seem to have forgotten
It's like you became a different person One that I didn't much care for I guess it was always inside of you You were always that mean girl It was just waiting to emerge
Did you ever stop to think about How your actions made me feel? Or how I felt when suddenly my best friend Wasn't my best friend anymore? I felt like such an idiot for not seeing this coming
You seem to have forgotten who you were You've traded your identity for popularity Was it really worth it in the end? Was it really worth losing your best friend? But at least one good thing's come out of this
For three years you were a friend But I don't need or want friends like you Ones who spill all of my secrets To her new buddies who aren't nearly as cool As you seem to think they are
You seem to have forgotten That I was the one who actually cared But I guess now I've seen your true colors All you did was step on me Now all I have to say is to you is goodbye, © 2012 Haley Lynn ThomasAuthor's Note
