20. The Bullies and The Bullied

20. The Bullies and The Bullied

A Chapter by Haley Lynn Thomas
"

I guess I should be saying thank you.

"

I saw you for the first time in years

It's funny how you don't recognize me

The bullies never remember their victims

But the bullied never forget

They never fully recover

And never fully forget the pain

They put them through

It never really goes away

But the real difference is that

The bullies never amount to anything

And the bullied, they take their suffering

And use it to change the world

The bullied are filled with a compassion

That the bullies have never known

And because of all of their past struggles

They've learned how to survive and cope

You see the bullies taught them an important lesson

How to be a better, stronger person

And they take that knowledge

And they make the world a nicer place

And you see the real difference is that

In the end the bullied always win

And you may not recognize me

But I never forgot you

Author's Note

Haley Lynn Thomas
As someone who was bullied relentlessly this was meant to be an inspirational poem. If you're being bullied don't let them drag you down. You are beautiful and strong and believe me when I say it gets better. Soon they will only be a memory.
